Rp 2.2b sought to rebuild school
YOGYAKARTA: Gadjahmada University is seeking Rp 2.2 billion (approximately US$1 million) from the government to rebuild its three-story building that caught fire earlier this month.
If the proposal is approved, the renovation project will start in April at the latest, the project manager M. Munandar said here yesterday.
He added that the proposed budget would be allocated not only to finance the renovation project but also to purchase new facilities such as chairs, tables, filing cabinets and computers to replace those destroyed in the fire.
Meanwhile, Sofian Efendi, an assistant to the university rector, proposed that the university insure all of its facilities to minimize loses in cases of future accidents, Antara reported.(pan)
