Robbers steal Rp 500 million

PEKANBARU, Riau: Some 15 people armed with machetes and other
sharp weapons robbed the Pura Usaha Tani village unit cooperative
(KUD) in Peranap subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir regency, Riau
province, of Rp 500 million.

Riau Police confirmed on Friday the robbery, but there was no
information on whether the police had identified the robbers.

The cooperative head said that several employees were on duty
at the cooperative office when the robbers struck, but they were
outnumbered by the robbers.
