Robbers make away with gun

JAKARTA (JP): Four robbers grabbed jewelry worth hundreds of millions of rupiah, electronic equipment and a gun from a pilot's residence in the Puri Gading complex of Jati Asih, Bekasi early Tuesday morning.

Bekasi Police chief of detectives Adj. Comr. Wahyu Handoyo said the robbers arrived at the home of Nur Alamsyah, 40, with a Kijang van and entered the victim's home by breaking a window.

Quoting witnesses' statements, Wahyu said that the robbers tied up Nur and his wife with telephone wires and ordered the victims to tell them where the jewelry was kept.

The robbers made off with six gold rings, each weighing about 40 grams, an FN 45 gun with four bullets, two cell phones, two automated-teller-machine cards, six luxury watches and Rp 4 million in cash." (ylt)
