Robbers hypnotize bank customer

BEKASI: In a stupor, a bank customer handed the money she just withdrew from the bank on Thursday, her gold rings and cellular phone to three unidentified men she met near the bank on Jl. Jababeka Raya in Cikarang, Bekasi regency.

Frisda, 34, a resident of Cikarang Baru, just took Rp 2 million (US$212) from her bank account, when the three men approached her and asked for an address she didn't recognize. Before parting, one of them shook her hand to thank her.

"After that I lost focus and I didn't resist when they asked me to give them the money and my belongings," she was quoted as saying by Antara while reporting the case to the police.

"I just realized I'd been robbed after they got into a public minivan and fled right before my eyes." -- JP
