Robbers get away with three cars

JAKARTA: At about 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a group of six men invaded the home of Benny Sediawan, 31 in a housing complex in Kembangan, West Jakarta, and stole three automobiles, Rp 4 million in cash and jewelry.

The robbers entered the house by smashing the gate lock, breaking a window and then threatened the family with rifles and machetes.

Wearing masks, the criminals then forced Benny to open the garage in which his Kijang, Soluna and BMW cars were parked.

Benny was taken along with them to deceive security guards in the housing complex. Later, he was released in Kampung Makassar in East Jakarta.

"Police are still tracking down the suspects," said Adj. Comr. Herry Nahak, of the West Jakarta Police's detective division on Wednesday. --JP
