Robbers flee with Rp 200m

MEDAN, North Sumatra: A group of at least 10 armed men robbed on Monday cigarette distributor PT Bentoel Prima, making off with more than Rp 200 million (US$23,255) after injuring two security guards.

PT Bentoel Prima director Hamid Efendi said the robbers fled the scene in two Kijang cars after the crime, which took place at 3 a.m.

The robbers suddenly appeared and pointed guns at two Bentoel security guards and beat them with the weapons when the two put up a resistance. -- JP
