Robber seizes gold, money

JAKARTA: A man broke into a house in Bojongsari subdistrict, Jatiasih, Bekasi, on Tuesday evening and forced at knifepoint a resident of the house to hand over her gold jewelry and Rp 400,000 (US$43) in cash.

Police said on Wednesday that the robber threatened Aminah with a knife, who was watching TV with her 12-year-old daughter Siti Mariyam in a living room, after he broke into the house through the back door.

The robber immediately fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Jatiasih Police are still investigating the case. -- JP
