Two swindlers, Tulio (Kline) and Miguel (Branagh) get their hands on a map to the fabled city of gold, El Dorado. Their plan goes wrong when they get lost at the sea after a series of misadventures before they eventually end up on the shores of El Dorado and are worshiped by natives for their foreign appearance.

The film features voices by thespian Branagh who translated many Shakespeare stories into film but then starred in the critically thrashed Wild Wild West and talented funny guy Kline from A Fish called Wanda. Critics gave mixed reviews for this DreamWork animation effort after Antz and The Prince of Egypt. Nevertheless, it features songs by Elton John and Tim Rice, the duo who gave Disney's The Lion King a touch of feeling. (08)
