Road rage result of reckless driving

JAKARTA (JP): Jakarta's hectic traffic has been known to easily spark anger among motorists, most of whom apparently know very little about driving etiquette.

Although those with their own cars are rarely more disciplined than other road users, many people maintain that bus drivers are in fact the wildest drivers on Jakarta's streets.

Many bus drivers, instead of trying to change their reckless attitudes, which have been known to cause a number deaths and countless crashes, insist they "do no wrong".

On Wednesday, a Patas 11 bus driver, who was involved in a dispute with a taxi driver over a minor collision, proceeded to club the taxi driver over the head with an iron bar.

According to Antara, Didi, a driver with the Ratax taxi company, argued that the bus driver, who was on the Kampung Rambutan-Kota route, had been driving carelessly when his vehicle hit the taxi.

When Didi got out of his car to question the bus driver about his accountability, the two got into a heated quarrel on the busy thoroughfare Jl. M.H. Thamrin.

The driver then unexpectedly hit Didi with an iron bar and ran away from the scene, leaving his bus.

Didi fell to the ground, suffering a serious head wound.

Police said it would be easy to catch the bus driver as all his personal details had been taken from the bus company. (bsr)
