River dredging needed

This year's long dry season has reduced water levels in a
number of Jakarta's rivers. These rivers, including Ciliwung and
Malang, have become shallow and their waters brackish.

I think that the authorities should carry out river dredging
now because it will be easier remove mud and other sediments
during the dry season, to make the rivers flow easier in the
coming wet season.

For this purpose, the authorities responsible should establish
cooperation with social or youth organizations and also with
other non-governmental organizations.

In this way, communities will be made aware of the importance
of taking good care of the environment. Residents living around
or along rivers may also be involved.

I believe community members in general will greatly benefit
from this activity.
