Rival to testify in Sangaji's trial

JAKARTA: The South Jakarta Prosecutor's Office is to summon the leader of a notorious "youth organization", John Refra Key, to testify in a trial arising out of the brutal murder of the leader of another organization, Basri Sangaji, next week, public prosecutor Noerhasan Ridwan said on Tuesday.

Eight members of Key's group have been named defendants in the case. They are Semy Charter Refra alias Semy Key, Emang Refra, Rais Texas, Sevanya Rahakbau, Erwin Lambettubun, Koko Rahawarin, Yopi Ingrattubun and Rasid Renwarin.

Other witnesses to be called in next week's trial are a police officer and a doctor from the Metropolitan Medical Center hospital, to which Sangaji's mutilated body was taken.

Sangaji was murdered on Oct. 12 last year at his room in the Kebayoran Inn, South Jakarta. -- Antara
