Right time for robbers

JAKARTA (JP): For some crooks, the election campaign days are also good times to act.

On Monday, five criminals posing as political activists busy raising flags, robbed a family at about 5:30 a.m. in Cipinang Cempadak, East Jakarta.

They ran away with a 21 inch TV set, two portable stereos, a radio receiver and Rp 500,000 in cash from the family of Nurhayati, 53.

Nurhayati said it did not cross her mind that the five people raising the party flags were in fact criminals spying on her home.

She was threatened with a sickle and the robbers escaped, taking her belongings to a waiting van. (pan)
