Rifat leads GR-2 national group

JAKARTA (JP): Pertamina Prima XP team's rally driver Rifat
Sungkar and navigator Herkusuma won the title at the fourth leg
of the national sprint rally championship in Yogyakarta Sunday.

Rifat and Herkusuma clocked 10 minutes and 39 seconds to grab
the title driving their Mitsubishi Lancer GTi. They were 16
seconds faster than closest competitors, Andi Barata and Herunoto
of Firna team with 10:55.

"So far Rifat and Herkusuma have collected 30 points and
ensured their national title with only one series left to be held
in Bali in September," manager Irwan Suwondo said in fax
transmission.

Rifat said he was very happy with the results that allowed him
the fourth consecutive title since 1998.

"I hope the Indonesian Automotive Foundation (YOI), Pertamina
and other sponsors are willing to give me a chance to take part
in a foreign series next year," he said. (nvn)
