Riau airforce base reshuffle

PEKANBARU, Riau: Col. Eris Haryanto was sworn in as commander
of the Simpang Tiga airforce base here on Wednesday, replacing
Col. Eddy Haryoko.

Antara reported that Eris was formerly deputy commander of the
Adi Sucipto airforce base in Surabaya, East Java. Eddy is moving
to a post at the central headquarters of the airforce in Jakarta.

The chief of the Airforce's Operations Command I, Air Marshall
Suprihadi in his address at the handover ceremony noted the
strategic importance of the airforce base in Riau, which he
described as a gateway to Indonesia.
