Ria has to stand trial

Police have pledged to find all possible ways to arraign actress Ria Irawan in court.

"We'll keep on completing any items required to be reviewed by the prosecutor in a bid to send her to court," said City Police Chief Maj. Gen. Mochammad Hindarto on Thursday.

The South Jakarta prosecutor's office has returned her dossiers to the police at least two times as it found incomplete for trial.

Police are charging the 24-year-old actress with failure to report to them the possession and use of illegal drugs by Rifardi Soekarnoputra, her former boyfriend, and more seriously tampering with vital evidence and the scene of his murder.

Rifardi, 22, was found dead at the starlet's house in Lebak Bulus by Ria last January. (bsr)
