RI wrestlers set for SEA C'ships
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Wrestling Association (PGSI) plans to send seven athletes to compete in the second Southeast Asian Championships in Kuala Lumpur from Nov. 18 to Nov. 21.
The event will also serve as a substitute for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Brunei Darussalam in August which did not feature wrestling.
The PGSI official in charge of athletes development, Robby Nainggolan, said on Wednesday that Indonesia would send a full team to compete in seven freestyle classes of 50kgs, 54kgs, 58kgs, 63kgs, 69kgs, 76kgs and 85kgs.
Robby declined to name the team, saying they would be selected from results in the national championships in Medan, North Sumatra, next week.
The national event will also serve as a qualification round for the 2000 National Games in Surabaya. (yan)
