RI woman murdered in Holland

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian embassy in the Netherlands is arranging the return of the beheaded body of a 35-year old Indonesian woman found in a canal near Amsterdam.

Antara in a dispatch from The Hague identified the woman as Tri Nurbianti from Semarang, Central Java. She had been working for a catering company in Amsterdam.

Her body was found cut out into several pieces and stuffed into a plastic bag, while her head was found inside another bag. The remains were recovered by divers on April 14 and 15 in the Noord Zee canal in Ijmuiden, about 25 km from Amsterdam.

Police then put out a notice nationwide about the finding which allowed relatives and friends to identify the body as Nurbianti's.

The woman was married to a Dutch citizen identified as Dick Nicolaas Tiel. The news agency said the husband is not a suspect in the on-going police investigation.

Her body will be flown back home to Indonesia this weekend.

Nurbainti's parents have been identified as Kobi Basyuni, residents of Boyolali. (emb)
