RI wants wrestling in SEA Games

SEMARANG (JP): The Indonesian Wrestling Association (PGSI) is still fighting to have the sport included in the 2001 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur.

"Wrestling may not be included in the SEA Games, but PGSI and the chairman of the National Sports Council (Wismoyo Arismunandar) will approach the organizers about featuring the sport," PGSI chairman Andi Ghalib said on Monday.

"I'm sure the reason host Malaysia is declining wrestling is because it will give Indonesia an advantage in the medal tally. If wrestling is featured at the SEA Games, I believe we will enjoy a clean sweep." (har)
