RI to host banking meet
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia will host the fifth biennial conference of the Asian and Pacific Association of Banking Institutes in Bali this week.
The Indonesian Bankers Institute (IBI), the host of the four- day conference, said over the weekend Bank Indonesia (Central Bank) Governor J. Soedradjad Djiwandono is scheduled to open the meeting at the Grand Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur.
Banking executives from 18 countries are expected to take part in the conference, called "the Economic Prospect for the Asia- Pacific Rim from 1995 to 2000."
Speakers at the meeting will include Rachmat Saleh, a former Bank Indonesia governor, now vice chairman of IBI's National Council. (riz)
