RI, Russian courts boost cooperation

MOSCOW: The Constitutional courts of Indonesia and Russia have agreed on an exchange of judges and other personnel, a program deemed as a learning ground for the two new democracies.

Constitutional Court (MK) chief Jimly Asshidiqie said after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Valery D. Zorky that the two institutions were dealing with identical problems.

"Therefore we agreed to cooperate, including an exchange of information and personnel that will allow the two courts to learn about each other," Jimly said on Monday.

He said the Indonesian court, as a new institution, was learning from its foreign counterparts, including the United States, China and India. -- Antara
