RI putters form associations

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia will soon establish the Junior Putters Association (JPA) and the Professional Putters Association (PPA) as a way to popularize the games, an official said on Sunday.

Bay Rochlawati of the Putt-Putt Golf and Games told The Jakarta Post that the company would send a junior and a senior putter to the international games in the United States next year.

"Once the associations are established, we'll organize a series of monthly and quarterly tournaments," she said.

Bay was speaking on the sidelines of a monthly junior tournament held to mark the company's second anniversary.

Reza Antonie of Immanuel elementary school won the first place with a score of 32. Aga Arwanto of Pembangunan Jaya junior high came second with 33 and Audriansyah of Al Azhar elementary school third with 34 putts. (nvn)
