RI opens HK promotion center

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong said on Thursday it reopened the Indonesian Promotion Center after almost three and a half years of being closed.

The center was inaugurated by Consul General Roestam Effendi on Thursday in a modest ceremony in Hong Kong attended by 25 invited Hong Kong and Indonesian businessmen, the consulate general said in a statement.

The center will function as a facility for Indonesian businessmen to promote their products or establish business relationships in Hong Kong.

The center, which was first opened on Feb. 18, 1992, was closed in July 1996 due to technical problems.
