RI, Norway form business council
JAKARTA (JP): The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Jakarta announced
on Monday Indonesian and Norwegian firms had formed the
Indonesian-Norway Business Council (INBC) to promote trade
between the two countries.
The embassy said in a statement the council would provide a
forum for businessmen from both countries to discuss and exchange
views on business conditions, both domestic and international,
which affect their businesses.
The council aims at promoting trade, commerce, industry and
investment between Indonesia and Norway's public and private
sectors.
The council will provide information and assistance to
Indonesian firms seeking to do business in Norway and Norwegian
firms interested in doing business in Indonesia.
INBC is run by a board of directors and the secretariat is
located at the Norwegian Trade Council in the Menara Rajawali
Building in Jakarta.
President of PT Giwang Kanaka Muh Eddy Gozali has been
appointed council chairman and Blom ASA Terje managing director
Lund Henriksen was named cochairman for the period of 1999 to
2001.(jsk)
