RI invited to join German fair
JAKARTA (JP): The Association of German Bakery Organizations invited Indonesian companies here on Thursday to join the international trade fair for bakers and confectioners in Munich, in September.
The association's president Eberhard Groebel said the exhibition would give Indonesian companies the opportunity to know the latest developments in bakery-related industries.
"It will be an exchange forum for the world's baking industry, and Indonesia will receive much of benefit from such an event," Groebel told a media conference.
The fair, more popularly known by its German acronym IBA, is held once every three years. This year's 2000 will be open from Sept 29 until Oct 5, this year.
Groebel, who is here to promote the expo, said the exhibition would also present production machinery and equipment for bread making, raw ingredients and materials, cafe and shop furnishings and fittings, packaging machinery and marketing and services in the bakery-related business.
A previous event, which was held in 1998 in Dusseldorf, German, drew over 90,000 visitors from 112 countries, mostly from southern Germany, America and countries neighboring Germany.(07)
