RI imposes antidumping duty

JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Finance has ruled that the
import of ferro manganese, silicon manganese, and products made
out of the two chemical components from China will be subject to
a temporary antidumping import duty of 55 percent.

The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the new
ruling would be effective until Feb. 19, 1999.

"The Chinese products are suspected to have been imported as
dumping commodities," the statement added. (rei)
