RI gets satellite loan

JAKARTA (JP): The Export Import Bank of the United States and
Bank Ekspor Impor Indonesia have signed an agreement on a loan of
US$125 million for the financing of the purchase of two Hughes
HS-601 telecommunications satellites and related equipment.

In a statement made available yesterday, Bankers Trust Company
of the United States, which arranged the loan financing,
announced that the two satellites of the Palapa C series will be
operated by PT Satelit Indonesia (Satelindo).

The agreement was signed by director Maria Luisa M. Haley of
the U.S. Export Import Bank and president Sahaluddin N. Kaoy of
Bank Ekspor Impor Indonesia, in Jakarta in the middle of this
