RI bridge team reaches semifinal

JAKARTA (JP): The National Bermuda Bowl team reached the semifinals on Wednesday after defeating Belanda Indonesia Bridge Club (BC) 103-71 in the four-session quarterfinals.

The Bermuda Bowl team will face Dolphin BC, which won 151-134 over the National Venice Cup team. The National Venice Cup team is currently preparing to compete in the Venice Cup from Jan. 8 to Jan. 21 in the Bermuda Islands, the United States of America.

In another semifinal, Pattimura BC, which beat Bhinneka BC 148-127, will meet the Volta Manado team, which won 101-88 over Combination BC.

Combination's Memed Hendrawan failed to show up and did not provide any explanation for the absence, while teammate Recky Mandolang has been ill.

The National Bermuda Bowl team is currently in training for the Bermuda Bowl, which is staged at the same place and time as the Venice Cup. The team is expected to win the warm-up simulation semifinals, which will use 96 boards. (yan)
