RI beats Japan in World Junior

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian junior shuttlers beat the Japanese 3- 0 in the quarterfinal match of the World Junior Championships for the Bimantara Cups in Guangzhou, China Sunday.

Ardi Ardiansyah beat Yoshinaga Enomoto 3-2 with the score of 7-1, 7-1, 3-7, 0-7, 7-1 in the boys' singles as reported by the worldbadminton.net homepage.

In the girls' singles, Dewi Tira defeated Yusuke Shinkai also with 3-2 of 4-7, 7-1, 3-7, 7-2, 8-6.

Mixed doubles Ahmad Yusuf and Lita Nurlita beat Kohei Hayasak and Ikue Tatani 8-7, 7-5, 2-7, 7-2.

The boys doubles between Hendra A. Gunawan and Markis Kidho against Yusuke Shinkai and Naoki Kawamae and girls' doubles between Lita Nurlita and N.S. Endang against Kumiko Ogura and Reiko Shiota were not played. (nvn)
