Rheem gets ISO 9002

JAKARTA (JP): PT Rheem Indonesia, a steel drum and water heater manufacturer, has received International Standards Organization (ISO) 9002 certification from Sucofindo International.

The certification was received by Jakarta governor Surjadi Soedirdja at the city hall yesterday.

Rheem, founded 26 years ago, is 30 percent owned by the Jakarta administration, 40 percent by PT Gesit Alumas, and 30 percent by Australia's Southcorp Holding.

The company's plants in the industrial estate of Pulogadung in East Jakarta produces packaging drums for petroleum, food, chemical products, fragrance, paints and liquid products.

It also produces water heater, 80 percent of which are exported to Australia. (jsk)
