Reza-Adjie divorce needs SBY's attention

I just read an article in The Jakarta Post on Dec. 18, titled President asks artists to cover up. If President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has the time to respond to this kind of matter, I also hope the President has the time to attend to the divorce proceedings of singer Reza Artamevia and celebrity-cum-legislator Adjie Massaid.

As a mother, I understand the distress of Reza. Whatever happens during a marriage, as long as the mother or the father does not hurt or ill-treat the children, I think he or she still has the right to see her or his children. I hope Adjie, a House of Representatives legislator from the Democratic Party, realizes that the children also have the right to see their mother.

I also hope the President knows that Adjie, through his lawyer, asked Reza to give a sumpah pocong (oath of innocence by wrapping up in a shroud), which I think is the most ridiculous and unexpected request by a religious and knowledgeable man. If he thinks his wife cheated on him, then divorce her, however let her continue to see her children. Why can't he act like other divorced couples, who let their ex-spouses see their children? I hope the President, who was nominated by the Democratic Party, will ask Adjie to allow Reza to visit their loving children.
