Retailers to use Microsoft software

JAKARTA: Some 72 retail companies under the Indonesian Retailers Association (Aprindo) signed a memorandum of understanding with software company PT Microsoft Indonesia on Thursday for the application of legal software in their business.

Currently, Aprindo reports that most of its members are still relying on manual systems in their operations.

Under the agreement, Aprindo and Microsoft will provide technical support for the companies, in addition to conducting joint promotions.

Microsoft has appointed two local partners, PT Andal Software and PT CitraThirza Astarijaya, to develop retail application software for the companies. The applications will range from point of sale, cash register and warehousing to the supply chain. -- JP
