Retailer training starts
JAKARTA (JP): The Sinar Mas Group and Australia's Lend Lease Corporation (LLC) yesterday embarked on a program to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of retail owners and salespersons.
The four-day training project is being conducted by Yayasan Ketrampilan Indonesia (Indonesia Skills Foundation) with instructors from LLC.
The program was opened yesterday by the chief of the Ministry of Manpower's Jakarta office, Freddy F. Tuamelly, the chairman of Yayasan Ketrampilan Indonesia, Sabam P. Siagian, and Director of ACTU-Lend Lease Foundation Kevin Power.
Yayasan Ketrampilan Indonesia was established jointly by Sinar Mas and LLC in May last year, with operational funds provided by Sinar Mas, LLC and a grant from the Australian government.
Some 40 salespersons and retail owners of the Roxy Mas International Trade Center are joining the training program, which will put emphasis on providing the program's participants with practical skills. (pwn)
