Response to letters

It is truly mystifying why some of my innocent little letters--ho-hum stuff for serious subscribers--can bring about testy responses from other readers at times.

Surely the innocuousness of my scribblings is as clear as the halo over my head? The stories I related in the June 22, 1995 issue are not as important as what's happening in Bosnia, for example. Why any interest at all?

But for Mr. Gliwitzki, who paid some attention and expressed his heartfelt gratitude (June 24, 1995), I say, "You're welcome."
