Residents happy with road repairs

TANGERANG (JP): Residents of the Cipondoh district were pleased yesterday with the two-kilometer road repairs that have been completed by the military.

"Residents helped the officers everyday to complete the road to the Panunggangan area," the subdistrict head of Kunciran, Achmad Syafii, said.

The road repair project was one of the military's frequent projects under the "Army enters villages" program.

Achmad said the Rp 50 million project had widened the old narrow path by six meters and added a gutter.

The road, named Jl. Nean Saba, was constructed out of river stones and completed in three weeks.

"The road will help residents very much as we have never had adequate roads before," he said. (18/anr)
