Research award offered to women

JAKARTA: For the first time, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and L'Oreal are allowing Indonesian women researchers to apply for the Fellowship National award.

The program is open to women under the age of 35, for those with doctorates, and under 40 years old, for researchers.

Organizers will select two winners, both of whom will receive Rp 25 million (US$2,631). Registration is open until July 30, with the winners announced on Aug. 11.

Indonesian women scientists are also encouraged to pursue the Fellowship International award, which will earn the winner US$20,000 for research. Registration for the program will close on Sept. 3. -- JP
