Reporting on Aceh

I agree wholeheartedly with Hilda May's comment in The Jakarta Post on July 15, regarding Aboeprijadi's article Unspoken protest amid prolonged war in Aceh.

The article is a black-and-white picture of government forces as the bad guys and the rebel forces as the good guys.

Readers of the Post, consisting of educated Indonesians and expatriates, should not readily swallow such an unbalanced report. We readers of the Post seem to be at the mercy of mediocre journalists, who are incapable of producing an intellectually valid, neutral and objective report. What a shame!
