Reply to anti-Semite

I have very little comment to make on Pienandoro's letter published on Oct. 8, 1996. But if Pienandoro starts his expose on world peace with the statement that the Jews are criminals who caused the holocaust, then I think The Jakarta Post should not have printed that letter. Unless of course the writer calls the recent events in the Middle East a holocaust, as compared to the Holocaust of World War II.

It is understandable that there is a lot of difficulty in studying history in many parts of the world, including Indonesia. But if you know very little about something, I think it is better not to write letters to the editor. Because if you do, you merely show the world that you did not have accurate history books at school, which is embarrassing.
