Repairs to disrupt water supply

JAKARTA (JP): PT Thames PAM Jaya has announced that it will disrupt the supply of water to certain areas around Jakarta from Sept. 18 to Sept. 25, due to its second phase of repairs.

The company announced in a news statement received by The Jakarta Post on Monday, that during repairs, areas of Kwitang, Kenari, Kelapa Gading, Pegangsaan Dua, Cakung, Ujung Menteng and parts of Sungai Bambu and Kebon Bawang will receive less water.

The areas of Rawa Badak Utara, Tugu Utara, Lagoa, Tanjung Priok, Warakas, Sunter Jaya and parts of Sungai Bambu and Kebon Bawang will not receive any water.

The statement said Thames PAM Jaya apologized to all its customers for the inconvenience caused. For those who need further details, please contact the company's 24-hour service center at 577-2010, it said.

The company, which is a subsidiary of the British Thames Water International, first conducted repairs from Sept. 1 to Sept. 8.
