Rendra to appear in Bandarlampung

BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: Noted poet and stage actor WS Rendra
is scheduled to read his poems and speak at a literature
appreciation forum for Bahasa Indonesia and Indonesian literature
teachers in the province of Lampung on Thursday and Friday.

Panji Utama, a member of the forum's organizing committee,
told Antara here on Tuesday Rendra would read a number of his
works at the Taman Budaya Lampung arts center on Thursday. Local
poets Isbedy Stiawan Zs and Ahmad Yulden Erwin also will give
readings.

Rendra will deliver the forum's keynote speech on Friday at
the Balai Penataran Guru hall.

"There has been no cancellation of Rendra's appearance,"
Panji said.

The event is organized by Horizon/Kaki Langit magazine in
cooperation with Taman Budaya Lampung, Teater Forum Semesta and
the Lampung Art Council. (sur)
