Religion and recent events

So the Nigerian Islamic leaders and religious scholars decided that the Miss World pageant was not wanted, and Muslim youth set fire to a newspaper office that printed an article about the competition which they considered was an insult to the Prophet Mohammad.

The Saudi government decided that any expatriate seen smoking, drinking or eating in a public place during Ramadhan would be immediately deported. The religious elements in Aceh have decided that public caning is the answer to those that neglect their religious duties.

The Islamic leaders in Iran decided that a university teacher who openly suggested that Islam needs to reform its ways was sentenced to death. It is highly likely that suspected terrorists are being shielded by Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.

In Nigeria a young women who committed the most normal of acts by having sex with the man of her choice is sentenced to death by stoning. A group of terrorists decided that Muslims were being unfairly treated in this world and so they decided to murder some 200 innocent tourists in Bali.

Would someone please tell the so-called moderate Muslims that their religion is being hijacked by people who wish to destroy all the good things in life and replace it with repression and misery.
