Referees accused of biased judging

JAKARTA (JP): Four pencak silat referees from Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines have been accused of making unfair decisions during the 20th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games two weeks ago, an Indonesian official said on Tuesday.

Their sanctions will be decided by the disciplinary committee of the Asia Pacific Pencak Silat Federation in its meeting here next month.

Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) executive director Oyong Kramayudha said the committee could impose a life ban from refereeing the sport or suspension.

Oyong said Indonesian fighters Haris Nugroho and Rony Syaifullah lost their bouts in the Games due to unfair decisions. (yan)
