Rectors' forum set to convene

SEMARANG (JP): President Abdurrahman Wahid will open the fourth congress of the Indonesian Rectors Forum hosted by state Diponegoro University on Friday.

"The President will address the gathering. He will talk about national reconciliation and unity," forum chairman and Diponegoro rector Eko Budihardjo said.

Minister of National Education Yahya Muhaimin and leading scholars such as Mudji Sutrisno, Daniel Sparingga, Cholil Bisri and Satjipto Rahardjo will also address the seminar.

Some 250 rectors, including from East Timor University, will attend.

The forum also will issue a declaration on national education. (har/dja)
