Record growth for Visa
JAKARTA (JP): Visa International Asia Pacific announced that its 1995 sales volume in Indonesia alone reached US$1.27 billion, up by 28 percent from $998 million in 1994.
The company's Indonesia Manager Pauline Sahetapy issued a statement yesterday stating that the 28 percent yearly growth in Indonesia is slightly higher than the 27 percent growth in the Asia Pacific region, which recorded $92.4 billion in sales last year.
The average Indonesian Visa card holder uses the card 23 times a year. The most frequent users, Australians, pull out their cards 32 times a year on average, while the Japanese use theirs just three times a year. (rid)
