'RCTI' wins soccer tourney

JAKARTA (JP): RCTI private-run television station team beat Kompas daily team 1-0 to win The Jakarta Post 18th anniversary soccer tournament in the final on Saturday.

RCTI bagged home Rp 7.5 million (US$700), comprising Rp 3 million in cash and Rp 4.5 million in oil-related products from sponsor Nippon Mitsubishi, while Kompas earned Rp 4 million.

In the play-offs for third and fourth place, Hilton Hotel crushed GO tabloid 5-0 to claim third place. Hilton received Rp 2 million while GO got a consolation prize from the Post.
