Ray Parker Jr. to perform at Jamz

JAKARTA (JP): American singer Ray Parker Jr. will perform at Jamz Club on Jl. Panglima Polim Raya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, from April 9 to April 12.

In his Jakarta performances, Parker will promote his latest album I Love You Like You Are, produced by MCA. The album is Parker's most recent work since l987's After Dark, produced by Geffen.

Born and raised in Detroit, Parker began to play the guitar while in grade school and turned professional in his teens, first touring with the Spinners and then playing in recording sessions in Motown for everyone from Stevie Wonder, to Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight and The Temptations.

Parker's performances at Jamz will be held in two sessions. The first will start at 8 p.m., and the second session will commence at 10:30 p.m. Tickets for the shows are set at Rp 30,000 and Rp 40,000. (raw)
