Ragunan to open Children's Zoo
JAKARTA: Ragunan Zoo plans to open a three-hectare Children's Zoo in early 2005, zoo director Edy Setiarto said.
"This project is in cooperation with the Multipurpose Cooperative of Mutual Assistance. Due to the large budget needed to establish this area, we hope it can be finished early next year," he told www.beritajakarta.com, the city administration's official website, over the weekend.
The Children's Zoo will feature a traffic park, a circuit equipped with traffic signs so children on bicycles or tricycles can go along the circuit following the signs; a water park, comprising a small swimming pool and water games; and an animal world, a special area where children will be able to touch and interact with animals such as kangaroos and mouse deer.
The Children's Zoo will also have a mini-train, a mannequin palace, a mini-theater and a children's health clinic. -- JP
