Radio Klasik FM's 2nd birthday
JAKARTA (JP): Radio Klasik FM Jakarta held a classical music
concert at Erasmus Huis on Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta,
at 8 p.m. Thursday night to celebrate its second birthday.
Fransiska Beding, the radio's public relations executive, said
the concerts will feature Karen Ellis Chong and Ary Sutedja
(clarinet and piano), pianist Yazeed Djamin and vocalist Maz
Inung and the Joint Sound Choir from Jakarta International
School.
Beding said that Radio Klasik FM began airing classical music
on Oct. 1, 1995 for only six hours per day during its night show.
The radio extended its broadcasts to 12 hours a day in March 15,
1997 and 18 hours a day in May 1, 1997.
A survey by Surindo Utama revealed that 25 percent of the
radio's 100,000 listeners are executives and another 46 percent
are professionals. (hhr)
