Radio comment not derogatory

I think Astuti Dharma has misunderstood the 107.2 KIS.FM broadcast of Sept. 15 and of the Prayer read out by the co-host of the weekly show, "The Expat Hour". I heard the broadcast and the article that was read out.

It was not a letter but a prayer entitled "The Expat Wife's Prayer". This is available in many countries around the world. I have a copy of the prayer and do not find it at all derogatory to the Indonesian people.

I am Indonesian myself and have lived overseas in other people's countries and can appreciate and agree with the sentiments in the prayer. Indeed, as an Indonesian living in my own country, I too have experienced some of the trials and tribulations that the prayer refers to.

It was written tongue in cheek with a humorous vein and should be accepted as such and not as an insult to any nation or its people.

Perhaps if Astuti was to read it she too would agree that the prayers reference to not being hijacked or loosing ones luggage, or having houses with phones that work and roofs that don't leak, or restaurants that give good food but not dysentery, are indeed things we all pray for.
