Race fixed
MELBOURNE: World Formula 1 governing body FIA has rejected a formal complaint over McLaren's team's tactics in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix. The controversial race saw David Coulthard pull over three laps from the finish to allow team mate, Mika Hakkinen take the checkered flag.
FIA president Max Mosley said that team tactics have been a part of motor racing for a century, so McLaren should not be pilloried.
The complaint was lodged by AGP chairman Ron Walker, who described the staged 1-2 finish as "race fixing", adding that it was not in the spirit of competition.
