Rabobank -- the 'AAA' food and agribank

The Netherlands is one of the largest exporters of agriproducts in the world. Ranking third after the U.S. and France, the country has made up for lack of geographical space by focusing on intensive production. Much of this development was financed by Rabobank.

Rabobank is now one of the most solid and well-respected banks in the world with the much coveted "AAA" rating which is currently only held by two other commercial banks worldwide. With almost a century of expertise and knowhow to draw on, Rabobank moved into the international food and agribusiness arena over a decade ago, with the ambition to become a major global player in this sector. Today, an extensive network has been established throughout the world.

From January 1, 1995, Rabobank launched its new house-style. The new corporate symbol shows a human figure centered on a sun- dial with a logo-type for the bank's name especially created for Rabobank. By adopting this symbol, the bank wants to express it is an organization of and for people, a bank which works in close cooperation with its clients on mutually advantageous relationships. The launch of its new house-style is also a symbol of a renewed Rabobank.

In Indonesia, Rabobank serves its customers through two separate operations.

PT Rabobank Duta Indonesia began operations in 1990, as a joint venture bank with Rabobank Nederland as major shareholder (85%) and Bank Duta as local partner (15%). Today, Rabobank Duta Indonesia offers a comprehensive range of international banking and treasury services to its corporate customers.

PT Rabobank Finance Indonesia is a joint venture leasing company owned by the same shareholders as PT Rabobank Duta Indonesia. The leasing company provides leasing products to corporate clients in close cooperation with the joint venture bank.

Although established to serve local corporate clients and international customers which need indepth knowledge of the Indonesian market, Rabobank Duta Indonesia's and Rabo Finance Indonesia's operations in Indonesia are also an integral part of a strong network of Rabobank offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Sydney. This network covers one of the most vigorous and dynamic economic growth areas in the world -- Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim. However, it also links into the bank's global network through which Rabobank customers have immediate access to local expertise and knowhow in the world's major trade centers -- New York, London, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires and many others.

Capitalizing on Rabobank's worldwide knowhow and experience in the food and agribusiness sector, the Indonesian offices are more than able to advise the clients effectively on the financing of both the agriprocessing industry as well as agribusiness and commodity flows. Moreover, Rabobank's Agri-Project Finance Team in Singapore and Hong Kong provides specialized expertise for feasibility studies and financial structures for agricultural projects.
